Pan and Pro Europe represents and promots the interest of
the manufacturers of profiles and sandwich panels.
Technical activities
Experts acting in closed relationships with CEPMC
and with Mirrors National Groups on several key issues implemented
or discussed at the European Level and concerning construction products
and especially Panels and profils products.
- The revision of the Construction
Products Directive (CPD) which will be turned in a European
Regulation (CPR). A proposal of revision was provided by the European
Commission 23 May 2008.
- Fire performances of products. CEPMC
has implemented a Working Group which intervene deeply in CEN/TC127
and EC Expert Group on fire, in particular for the establishment
of single test methods (roof test), Round Robin Test of SBI. This
group plays an active and decisional role in the decisions of
CWT/CWFT (classification without test or without further test)
and for the determination of the field of application of certain
test (e.g. discussion on full scale Fire test).
- Dangerous substances. A large part of products mandates given
by the European Commission to CEN are under revision to include
provisions on Dangerous substances. The revision of the mandates
will lead to a revision of the products harmonized standards.
- Sustainability. There are several initiative from the European
Commission and National Authorities to develop regulation on the
issue of sustainability (Ecodesign
directive, ecolabel,
energy labeling, Energy Performance of Buildings Directive). Pan
and Pros action is aiming to obtain consistency between
these various regulations, and to support EPD (Environment Performance
Declaration) to be agreed as one of the accepted means to answer
to the various requirements.
Research activities
Pan and Pro Europe is partner of the European research programme:
EASIE "Ensuring Advancement in Sandwich Construction
through Innovation and Exploitation".
The central aim of the EASIE project is to promote a wider use
of sandwich panel technology across the EU construction industry.
The second goal of the project is to develop technical guidelines
ready for implementation for the revision of the standard EN 14509.
The Easie project covers 3 major categories of research:
- Improvement of sandwich panel design and design tools to promote
and simplify the use of sandwich products
- Improvement of energy consumption both, during production process
and after application to the building
- Prediction of the product lifecycle to ensure safe design and
efficient retrofitting and replacement
History
Pan and Pro Europe is the institution merging the EPPF (European Profiles
and Panels Producers Federation) and PANAMA INTERNATIONAL (international
sandwich-panels manufacturers association).
PANAMA INTERNATIONAL was founded in 1985 to promote the interest of
its members and to contribute to the continuous technical development
of temperature controlled and insulated environments.
EPPF was established in 1993 to represent the interest of the various
national associations of the manufacturers of profiles and sandwich
panels. It acted as a single, influential voice for the national associations.
Cooperation with : European Association and Federation
like ISOPA, EURIMA
... in defence of common position .
